WhizComms has been operating in Singapore since 2016, offering fibre broadband plans and related add-ons to home users. Like SIMBA, WhizComms offers competitively priced broadband plans. The internet provider uses Singtel’s network infrastructure for its plans. WhizComms offers a few “no frills” fibre broadband plans that are light on features but offer great value relative to the speeds on offer. Scroll on for our WhizComms broadband plans review.
WhizComms fibre broadband plans
WhizComms offers three main fibre broadband plans, all of which come with an ONR on loan. Depending on which plan you choose, there may be activation fees. Although most WhizComms plans are no frills (meaning you'll need to bring your own router), you can pay extra for a router either upfront or on an ongoing basis.
The cheapest WhizComms plan is the FibrePlus 2.5Gbps No Frills, which costs $24 per month (plus $115.54 upfront) on a 24-month contract. This WhizComms broadband plan has up to 2.5Gbps symmetrical download and upload speeds, however this is limited to 1Gbps per individual connection. Compared to other providers in our database, WhizComms has the cheapest broadband plans overall.
For slightly faster speeds with no upfront fee, the WhizComms FibrePlus 3Gbps No Frills plan actually comes out cheaper over 24 months and costs $28 per month for up to 3Gbps symmetrical download and upload speeds. This plan also has an optional router add-on from $120.
For those needing the fastest speeds, there are also 10Gbps WhizComms fibre broadband plans available. The cheapest (the 10Gbps No Frills) costs either $28.80 per month with no upfront fees for a 24-month contract or $28.99 per month (plus upfront fees) with a 12-month contract. Either price offers up to 10Gbps symmetrical download speeds, and routers can be purchased through Whizcomms from $120. Compared to other 10Gbps plans in our database, Whizcomms is the cheapest.
Also consider:
Some fibre broadband providers in Singapore offer an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) while others, like WhizComms, offer an Optical Network Router (ONR). An ONT acts as a modem, which connects to a router. An ONR operates as both a modem and a router, though the router portion only works for wired devices. Practically speaking, you’ll need to connect an ONT or an ONR to a router that offers WiFi to use the internet on any wireless devices in your home.

WhizComms estimates its broadband plans should be activated within five business days. You may have to wait the same amount of time for WhizComms to reach out about weekday installation scheduling, which, if not waived, costs $59.95. Note that a separate installation may be required for the NetLink Trust Fibre Termination Point installation prior to the WhizComms networking equipment installation. NLT activation, if not waived, costs $61.04.
