Gone are the days when the mobile market was dominated by the three major telcos (Singtel, StarHub, and M1). Over the years, the market has seen a number of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) who’ve managed to offer similar inclusions at a very comparable price range.
SIM-only plans are a great choice for the person who’s happy with their current handset or equally willing to buy their next smartphone outright. Compared to big providers, there tend to be more SIM-only plans on offer from MVNOs. And that greater range of plans leads to a great mix of competitive pricing, deals and discounts, and tight competition on the all-important data front.
Moreover, there are providers that offer capped speeds if you go over your monthly data allocation, so no bill shock. Scroll on to check our top picks of the best SIM-only plans in Singapore this month.

How we chose the best SIM plans each month
At WhistleOut, we take the job of recommending our monthly winners and runners-up very seriously. That’s why we have a dedicated team that reads over more than 300 plan documents each week to spot hundreds of plan changes in our database every month.
When it comes to the SIM-only plans in our comparison engine, we take a wide array of factors into consideration. For starters, there are the basics. All of our monthly plan winners and runners-up come with the most minutes and text in Singapore, plus we tend to lean towards SIM-only plans with no contracts. We like no-contract plans because it’s easier to switch mobile providers when a better option comes along.
After the basics, our first key consideration is price, and not just promotional pricing. To help offer a fuller picture of actual costs, we evaluate price in terms of first-year value, which helps separate actual great pricing from a limited-time promotion that may not offer better value in the long run. For promotional pricing to be considered, it has to last at least six months.
The other big consideration with any phone plan is how much data it comes with, and SIM-only plans are no exception. We use included monthly base and bonus data alongside pricing (promotional or regular) to help determine the overall dollars-to-data value which, like the promotional-pricing disclaimer above, can help level out a great data offer from one that only has short-term worth.
