We track 16 mobile providers in our comparison engine, which means plenty of options. There may be plenty to choose from, but there are only four mobile networks in Singapore: M1, SIMBA (formerly TPG Telecom), Singtel and StarHub. All of the mobile providers in Singapore own or operate on these four networks. We’ve used December 2024 data from independent testing site Opensignal and our own insights for the best telcos on these networks to determine the best mobile network for specific categories.

Video experience
Opensignal calculates the video experience by streaming a mix of video resolutions up to 4K. Picture quality, video loading time and stall rate are used to determine the overall score out of 100. All of the scores are quite decent, but StarHub is noticeably ahead and SIMBA (TPG) is a bit behind.
- StarHub 74.1/100
- Singtel 71.5/100
- M1 69.7/100
- SIMBA (TPG): 64.9/100
Games experience
Multiplayer games played over mobile networks are used to determine the scores in this Opensignal category. Games include Fortnite, Pro Evolution Soccer and Arena of Valor. Latency, packet loss and jitter are all factored in to determine a score out of 100. StarHub and Singtel tie for first, followed by M1, and SIMBA (TPG) in last place, albeit with a still respectable number.
- StarHub 84.3/100
- Singtel 84.3/100
- M1 81.0/100
- SIMBA (TPG): 77.7/100
Download speed experience
Megabits-per-second (Mbs) measurements are used by Opensignal to determine the download speeds on the different mobile networks in Singapore. Average download speeds are determined by a mix of 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G networks. As you can see below, StarHub has a noticeable lead over Singtel and M1, with SIMBA (TPG) lagging quite far behind.
- StarHub 116.1Mbps
- Singtel 110.4Mbps
- M1 92.8Mbps
- SIMBA (TPG): 22.9Mbps
Upload speed experience
Upload speed isn’t as important as download speed for most online tasks. Opensignal uses a mix of 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G networks to determine the overall averages for the four networks in Singapore. There are only fractions of a megabit differences between StarHub and M1, but Singtel is close behind and SIMBA is noticeably slower.
- M1 17.3Mbps
- StarHub 17.1Mbps
- Singtel 16.3Mbps
- SIMBA (TPG): 5.3Mbps

According to Opensignal, there’s very little difference between all four mobile networks' coverage. This means whichever network you’re on, you can expect to have access to mobile signal for data, calls and SMS almost all the time. That said, Singtel currently boasts the best 5G coverage, so we've given it the top spot. Above, you can find the most popular plans on the Singtel network.
Here’s how the four mobile networks look in terms of coverage.
Network availability
There’s only a 0.5% difference between the best mobile network availability and the lowest. This means all networks can be relied upon for regular availability.
- Singtel: 99.5% uptime
- StarHub: 99.4% uptime
- M1: 99.2% uptime
- SIMBA (TPG): 99.0% uptime
5G coverage experience
Opensignal rates this metric out of 10, factoring in 5G mobile coverage availability in the places people tend to live, work and travel to the most. Singtel is the winner, with a tie for second and SIMBA not far behind.
- Singtel: 9.0/10
- StarHub: 8.0/10
- M1: 8.0/10
- SIMBA (TPG): 7.8/10

Except for SIMBA (TPG), the other three mobile networks in Singapore have mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) that also sell plans on their networks. The M1 mobile network has Maxx, Circles.Life, MyRepublic and Changi Mobile plans. eight, giga, ZYM Mobile and redONE also operate on the StarHub mobile network. The Singtel mobile network has mobile plans from GOMO, CMLink, VIVIFI and Zero1. Because StarHub is Opensignal's best network and its providers offer some of the best value, we’ve picked it as the best mobile network for the most choices. Some of the popular plans from StarHub and StarHub MVNOs are listed above.
